WCA Mentorship Program
We are collaborating with FlightAlly and the Ninety-Nines to enhance our mentorship initiatives. Our Sweet 16 Summer Series will continue throughout June, July, August, and September. Keep an eye out for announcements regarding upcoming dates and events.
WCA’s Mentorship Program:
The WCA Mentor Program is to help those interested or just starting their careers in business aviation by pairing them with a mentor in their field who can be a resource and guide. The program details are outlined below. We are looking for both interested mentees and mentors, please click on the appropriate link:

Our mission is to empower professionals with mentorship opportunities, exclusive resources and the tools to succeed in this competitive industry. Flight attendants, flight technicians, pilots, dispatchers, and schedulers will gain knowledge with an experienced mentor in the corporate aviation industry.

Professional Pilot Leadership Initiative (PPLI) – The Ninety-Nines
The Professional Pilot Leadership Initiative (PPLI) aims to accelerate the advancement of women in all pilot professions, facilitate dynamic mentoring, and enhance our leadership role in the aviation community. The program provides highly motivated 99s with the tools to develop their careers and leadership abilities. Through guided activities and formal mentoring partnerships, it strengthens and expands the network of women pilots.
This highly-structured, formal leadership and mentoring program is unique. The mentor and mentee will communicate on a weekly basis to discuss the mentoring prompts and guided activities. Visit the PPLI website for more information.

Mentee:
- Must be a member of WCA.
- Must be involved/want to get involved in the aviation industry.
- Must call into conference calls or participate in online blog.
- Must be willing to commit to the mentor program for a specified amount of time.
- Must complete a Mentee Application.
Mentor:
- Must be a member of WCA.
- Must be a contributing member to the aviation industry.
- Must call into conference calls or participate in online blog.
- Must be willing to commit to the mentor program for a specified amount of time.
- Must create and attempt to complete one item from own development goals list (NIFA, safety programs, professional conferences) and provide feedback to mentee.
- Must complete a Mentor Application.
Activities
- Mentor makes initial contact with mentee within one week of assignment.
- Mentor program lasts for one year.
- Communication is made at least once a month between mentor/mentee.
- Mentors and Mentees participate in conference calls/blog posts about the program and it’s progress.
- Mentors and Mentees provide feedback about program periodically and complete a survey at the end of the program.
- If the relationship is not beneficial to either the mentee or mentor, follow contingency plan.
Contingency Plan
If the mentor/mentee relationship is no longer beneficial for either of those participating, a new mentor/mentee can be requested.
- Talk through the relationship with the mentor/mentee.
- Mentor or Mentee needs to complete a short synopsis of the issue, difference in career goals, lack of participation, etc., and send to the Mentor Program Director. Provide whether you would like a new mentor/mentee, or would like to take a Leave of Absence from the Mentor Program.
- Mentor Director will evaluate and decide if a new mentor/mentee will be given as soon as possible (depending on availability) or wait until the next session starts.
