Summary
Buckle’s aviation department goal is to contribute to the continued success of the company by effectively utilizing both air transportation equipment and human resources.
The primary objective is to provide Buckle personnel and guests with efficient, comfortable, and flexible air transportation, consistent with the highest standards of safety and professionalism. The safety of personnel and equipment is paramount and shall take precedence over all other considerations. The department shall have the capability to respond rapidly, around the clock, to meet the transportation requirements of the company, within the limits of the crew and maintenance scheduling. The aircraft will provide a comfortable and secure environment in which passengers may work or relax, free from distractions and interference. The Corporate Pilot hours will include some evenings and weekends.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Ensure safe air travel for all passengers.
- Establish, maintain, and update records as required by the Federal Aviation Regulation (FAR), manufacturers and Buckle policies.
- Comply with schedules and other directives governing the aircraft’s operation.
- Create and maintain close relationships with local airport management teams.
- Ensure that preflight inspections are performed with the use of checklists and prepare flight plans.
- Study weather conditions at destination, enroute, alternate airports and departure points.
- Ensure the aircraft is clean and prepared for flight with all provisions on board for the safety and comfort of the passengers.
- Review and calculate the aircraft weight and balance, fuel on board, and performance charts.
- Make decisions necessary to start, delay, or cancel flights and deviate the flight from planned route or destination when operating conditions dictate.
- Act as Pilot in Command (PIC) for all flights.
- Supervise the First Officer (second in command) in any duties necessary for the smooth, safe, and efficient operation of the aircraft.
- Coordinate the functions of all crewmembers assigned to the flight.
- Fulfill mission statement by performing job duties with a high level of customer service while contributing to a positive team spirit.
- Special projects and other duties as assigned.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Aviation from four-year college or university preferred
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Cessna Citation CJ3 Captain/Cessna Citation Sovereign Captain
- 3,000 hours – Total Pilot Time
- 1,500 hours – Pilot-In-Command
- 500 hours – Turbine
- CE-525 & CE-680 Type Ratings
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with Multi-engine rating preferred, or Commercial Pilot Certificate with Multi-engine rating required, and First- or Second-Class Medical Certificate.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to high, precarious places and outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment ranges from moderate to very loud. When around the aircraft and on the ramp ear plugs are supplied and recommended for use.
